A man has died following a crash between a truck and a bicycle near the border of NSW and Victoria earlier this month.

About 10.30am Wednesday, December 8, emergency services were called to Thyra Rd, near the corner of Ham Rd, Moama — about 10km north of Echuca, Victoria — following reports a cyclist had been hit by a Volvo truck.
The cyclist — a 79-year-old man — was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne in a critical condition.
Officers attached to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command and the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended and established a crime scene.
They have been advised the man died in hospital on Wednesday, December 29.
On the day of the crash, the driver of the truck — a 53-year-old Melbourne man — was taken to Deniliquin Hospital for mandatory testing, before being arrested and taken to Deniliquin Police Station, where he was charged with dangerous driving occasion grievous bodily harm and negligent driving (occasion grievous bodily harm).
His driver’s licence was also suspended.
He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Deniliquin Local Court on Tuesday, February 8.
