Police have charged a 46-year-old Katunga man following a siege at a Katunga property last week.
Police officers were called to an address on Katunga-Picola Rd, Katunga, at about 1.20am on Friday, October 2.
After lengthy negotiation, with the assistance of the police critical incident response team, the man was arrested without incident and transported to hospital for assessment, police said.
The man has since been interviewed and charged with intimidating a police officer, six counts of assault police, criminal damage, threat to destroy property, affray and three counts of commit indictable offence while on bail.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Shepparton Magistrates’ Court this week.
UPDATE, 5PM, Friday, October 2: Police have arrested a man following a siege at a Goulburn Valley property on Friday, October 2.
Police officers were called to an address on Katunga-Picola Rd at Katunga at about 1.20am.
A 46-year-old man was at the property and refused to engage with police, police said.
After lengthy negotiation, with the assistance of the police critical incident response team, the man was arrested without incident and transported to hospital for assessment, police said.
He will be interviewed by police at a later date.
EARLIER, NOON, Friday, October 2: Police are involved in a stand-off with a man at a Katunga property that has already lasted for many hours.
Emergency services were called to Katunga-Picola Rd about 1.15am on Friday, October 2.
At 11.30am, police said they were still negotiating with a man at the property.
There is no threat to members of the public from the incident, police said.
