The only player in history to represent three different nations at a World Cup, Frizell's immediate focus is firmly on helping Tonga secure a place in the semi-finals with victory over Pasifika arch rivals Samoa on Sunday.
But the 35-year-old also has one eye on the Tigers after Marshall lured his fellow New Zealander and former Dragons teammate down from Newcastle with some lavish praise about the "invaluable' forward enforcer's influence on teammates.
"He's the most professional player I've ever seen when it comes to preparation," Marshall said after the Tigers confirmed Frizell's signing for 2027 this month.
"He will show people here what first-grade preparation looks like week in, week out.
"Tyson doesn't miss a beat when it comes to that kind of stuff."
After starting his first-grade career in 2011 at Cronulla, Frizell has racked up 306 NRL games during a distinguished career for the Sharks, St George Illawarra and 2026 grand finalists Newcastle.
Now he can't wait to join the Tigers.
"It's a big challenge," Frizell said.
"Every year's a challenge in the NRL, to be honest. I trained there for the first time and then had the realisation that I'll be in these facilities at the start of next year.
"So you can't go back on what you've done last year. It's a fresh start: go again and the Tigers, I'm looking to implement myself, gain some respect of all the players and then go on about my work and play as well as I can."
The veteran admits it wasn't a difficult decision to accept the SOS call from Marshall, who has also recruited Kurt Mann (Canterbury), Jayden Brailey (Canberra) and Jake Averillo (Dolphins), and extended second-rower Samuela Fainu's contract, in his ongoing quest to revive the Tigers' fortunes after a 15-year exile from the NRL finals.
"It is nice to be well respected and having someone wanting you to be a part of their club because they think you can add some value to it," Frizell said.
"I've played a lot of footy with Benji in the past and am looking to work alongside them."
Before linking with the Tigers, though, Frizell has some important work ahead of him trying to help Tonga make the World Cup semi-finals for the first time since 2017.
That year, the powerhouse forward was a member of Australia's triumphant outfit after first playing in the global showpiece in 2013 for Wales, where his father was born.
Frizell said it was impossible to answer if representing Tonga and his mother's heritage made this World Cup more special than his first two.
"Look, that's hard to answer," he said.
"I'm in the moment now and it means everything to me now. It's definitely going to be my last one and I want to play as well as I can to give ourselves the opportunity to make history and do something special."Â
