Seymour Lions' B-grade and Under-17s dropped out of the race for their respective premierships after losses to Shepparton United and Echuca on the weekend.
B-reserve; Seymour 26 defeated by Shepparton United 56.
It was a goal-for-goal opening with both sides settled early.
Defensive pressure by both teams was very good however United took a four-goal lead at the first break.
Chloe Symons worked hard to shut down the goal ring with support from Alicia McLeod and Sarah Waite.
Kira Nelson unfortunately went down with an injury late in the second quarter.
United capitalised on turnovers and extended their lead throughout the game.
The Lions played patches of great netball and it was a super effort by all players.
Best players: Chloe Symons, Bianca Schache and Georgia Velt.
Under-17; Seymour 38 defeated by Echuca 46.
The girls started on the back foot, seeing Echuca take an early lead and controlling the game.
Olivia Barry and Sophie Rutherford worked tirelessly in the mid-court to provide drive in attack and create turnovers in defence.
Despite being 10 goals down entering the final quarter the girls fought back, reducing the gap to three girls at one stage.
Unfortunately the Lions couldn't get over the line, but their passion, effort and "never give up" attitude was never lost.
Coach Courtney was incredibly proud of the girls' season.
Best players: Olivia Barry, Sophie Rutherford and Ruby Martin.
