Local swimmers aim for Country Championships success

SEVERAL members of the Echuca Swimming Club are set to test themselves against the best Victoria has to offer.

The team will travel to Warrnambool on the Australia Day long weekend for the 2020 Victorian Long Course Country Championships.

Athletes from the club will compete in a range of events across several different categories as they aim to all return home with a medal around their neck.

Last year's event at Warragul was one of the club's most successful with nine members competing, as some were able to post personal best times.

Lara Judd will be hoping for another successful competition, after winning gold in the 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke and 200m individual medley in 2019.

She also won silver and bronze medals.

Meanwhile, Kyle Scott will be looking to go one better after finishing a silver medal in the open 100m breaststroke.
