The trip to face the Purples represented Moama’s first away fixture of 2026, doing so off the back of a first loss of the year against Tongala, while Nathalia had won each of its opening four matches by an average margin of about 27 goals.
The hosts would continue their current streak of dominant victories by winning 62-36, the Magpies proving no match and dropping to an even 2-2 record four games into their season.
Moama now sits fifth, with the 26-goal defeat also having a sizeable impact on its percentage, which has dropped to 111.
On Saturday, the Magpies are back at home against Cobram in a bid to arrest their current two-game slide, which should be a close encounter, the Tigers sitting just below Moama in sixth.
Elsewhere in the weekend’s Murray Netball League action, Echuca United forfeited its round five home fixture against Rumbalara, handing Rumba all four points.
As a result, the Eagles are sitting second-bottom of the competition, with Congupna being the only other side without victory so far this season.
