There were several tight contests at the weekend in Heathcote District Netball League, with Leitchville-Gunbower and Lockington-Bamawm United playing matches down to the wire.

The most thrilling contest of the round was out at Gunbower Recreation Reserve, the Bombers and Huntly battling to a standstill.

Leitchville snagged a few quick goals to start the contest, but Huntly quickly restored parity, setting the trend for a back and forth showdown.
At the final siren, neither side could break free, the scores finishing level 49-all.
The Bombers sit sixth, with one of each result, win, loss, draw and bye, through four rounds, while Huntly is 1-1-2 in fifth spot.

Heathcote v Lockington-Bamawm United
Lockington-Bamawm United was well in the contest in round four but couldn’t secure the victory over Heathcote.
The Cats were on the road at Barrack Reserve and almost did enough to secure their first win of the season.

Lockington got the early jump and took a five goal lead into the first break, but Heathcote edged a head by one at half-time.
The Saints inched further clear to lead by three at the final change, and maintained that advantage through the final term to win 46-43.

The Cats are now winless through four fixtures, ahead of only Elmore by goal differential, while Heathcote advances to seventh with the victory.
Lockington-Bamawm and Leitchville-Gunbower are set to face off this Saturday, the two sides battling at Lockington Recreation Reserve.
