MATHOURA has announced it is set to field under-11 and under-17 teams this season, with coaches already appointed.

Tim Sparey will take charge of the under-17s, with the club announcing the news via its Facebook page.

“We are so lucky to have Tim Sparey guiding our youngest Timbercutters (at) the start of their MFNC careers,” the post said.

“Tim has coached at a senior level, he is a former senior best and fairest winner, former MFNC club captain, amazing family man to his beautiful wife Erin and two children Mayli and Judd. We are thrilled to have Tim a part of our coaching staff this year.”

Meanwhile Sean Emery will lead the club's under-17 team, after the side did not field a team in 2019.

“We are so excited to announce that MFNC will be fielding an U/17s team this year,” the post read.

“Coach Sean Emery and the boys have been training hard during the pre-season, preparing for what’s going to be a solid and successful start to the 2020 season.

“Sean returns to coaching after a few years’ break. He lead our U17s to a grand final appearance in 2015.”

And the club also revealed Robert Jacobson would coach the under-14s for a second straight year.

“We are excited to have Bob enter his 2nd year of coaching our U14 squad,” a post said.

“Bob not only brings experience but a positive focus to educate and motivate our juniors to get the best out of their football journey.

“The boys have put in an awesome preseason and we look forward to sharing success in 2020.”
