The club's committee said on Friday it would be impossible to adhere to recent regulations, and that the club could not guarantee the safety of the close to 400 participants and any event spectators.
The tournament was already likely to be more difficult in 2020, with six courts at the club unable to be used due to the Echuca-Moama bridge project, with the recent COVID-19 pandemic the final straw for the tournament.
“We understand this would be very disappointing players, as it is to our tennis club,” the club said on Facebook in announcing the event's cancellation.
“We really enjoy having everyone around our club and supporting Echuca/Moama businesses over the Easter period.”
