The perfect weather continues for the Wednesday game of scrounge.
Bowlers were treated to pristine conditions with a true running fifteen second green resulting in some exceptional bowling on the day.
The actual scoring was possibly the highest witnessed for some time.
Tom Davis finished with 74 points to top the day while Terry Malone making an initial debut finished second on rink 6.
Another sky-high number belonged to Bryan Kinnane on 64 points to hold off Graham Turner (56).
Kinnane proved that his bowls are equal to his talent on the golf course.
Phillip Cunnington amassed 41 points for a close victory from John van den Bosch with 35 points.
Rink three was dominated by CVBD secretary/treasurer Gayle Kerr carding an impressive 47 points to win the chocolates ahead of Max Clifford on 43.
The final rink win went to the ever consistent Russell Shawcross on 46 points from a fast finishing Andrew Harris scoring 42 points.
Four wins in a row to Shawcross, may need the introduction of handicap conditions.
The game of scrounge is held on each Wednesday (weather permitting) starting at 1pm — names to be listed prior to 12.45pm.
The outstanding club championship games are to be completed shortly.
Once these games have been decided, the presentation evening date can be announced.

Following the COVID-19 close down of all bowling activities in March, and the now partial lifting of restrictions, we have recommenced some bowling for members only, adhering to the social distancing and hygiene requirements set down by the government and health authorities.
Roll ups and practice are available on each day of the week except Monday between the hours of 10am and 4pm at intervals of 1-hour with a 30-minute changeover to avoid a larger than allowed gathering of people.
Names of those bowling must be entered on the roll up booking sheets at the appropriate time slot on the sheets that are on the display board.
Jackpot pairs for club members only has also started up and will be held on each Wednesday commencing at 12pm until further notice.
Entry forms are on the display board.
A maximum of 32 bowlers per green is the current number set down by the authorities.
We have also restarted our outstanding club events and these are being worked through and nearing the final games expected to be finished over the next couple of weeks.
Indoor bowls will be starting again after the lifting of restrictions and are beginning on Tuesday, July 7 at the Rich River Golf Club upstairs room as previously.
Any further details can be obtained by contacting Joyce Brereton.
Our AGM will take place on Thursday, July 9 at the Rich River Golf Club in the Tatalia Room at 2pm.
