A particularly meaningful moment was the presentation of the Annette Bain Junior Club Person to Annette’s granddaughter Savannah Bain.
Rather than recognising on-court performance alone, it is awarded to a junior member who demonstrates outstanding commitment, involvement, sportsmanship, leadership and service to the club community.
Recipients are young people who embody the values of the Redeyes both on and off the field or netball court.
The award is named in honour of Annette Bain to recognise her own contributions to the Blighty Football Netball Club over many years.
Another award named in honour of a staunch Blighty supporter and volunteer is the Deb Cochrane Sportsmanship Award.
It recognises a netball player who consistently demonstrates respect, fairness and positive conduct throughout the season.
The award places the emphasis on how the game is played, rather than simply on performance or results.
The recipient this year was under-17s player Amy Doherty, who also made her C-grade debut this season.
The family culture at Blighty is also recognised through the Club Family Award, which was presented to Steve and Jess Butcher and their family.
Other club level awards saw the Rising Star Umpire award presented to Alexis Bucholtz, the football Match Day Award went to parent volunteer Beck Thomson, and the junior netball Goal Shooter Award go to Ella Charlton.
The football Champion Player award went to Daniel Burn, while the netball Rising Star Player award went to Emily Harvey.
