On a three-game winning streak, Tongala’s football side has a huge test against unbeaten Congupna in the Murray league this weekend.
Only four local clubs will feature in football-netball clashes this weekend, as a couple of competitions are serving league-wide byes.

The Goulburn Valley League has a general bye this weekend, so none of Echuca’s teams will be in action, with their next clashes coming against Shepparton Bears on May 30.
In the Murray league, Moama faces Rumbalara at Moama Recreation Reserve on Saturday, with the Magpies’ senior footballers after consecutive wins against winless Rumba at 2pm, while the netball clash should be competitive with fifth playing third at 1.30pm.
Echuca United’s teams are travelling to Nathalia Recreation Reserve to take on Nathalia on Saturday, with the Eagles looking to bounce back from consecutive football losses at 2pm and notch a first A-grade netball win of the season at 1.30pm.
Tongala will also be in Murray league action against Congupna at Tongala Recreation Reserve on Saturday, the football clash at 2pm set to be a cracker between two in-form sides, though the Blues are favoured in the netball at 1pm versus the winless Road.
In the Heathcote District Football Netball League, Leitchville-Gunbower’s teams are seeking a return to form after both suffered consecutive losses, with the Bombers facing Elmore at Elmore Recreation Reserve, the senior football starting at 2.20pm and A-grade netball from 2.30pm.
Leitchville-Gunbower will aim to return to winning ways in the Heathcote District Netball League against Elmore on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Lockington-Bamawm United won’t feature in the HDFNL slate this weekend, as the Cats have a bye.
Finally, the Picola and District Football Netball League has a general bye this weekend, meaning neither Picola United nor Mathoura will be in action.
Soccer
The Echuca-Moama Border Raiders men are in excellent form, having won consecutive matches in the Football Victoria Bendigo League 2, and the side will aim for three in a row this Saturday against La Trobe University, with kick-off at 3pm at Jack Eddy Oval.
Meanwhile, the Border Raiders women are looking to return to the winners’ list after a loss and a draw, with the side playing on Sunday against Epsom, that match starting at 11am at Jack Eddy Oval.
Women’s football
Moama’s youth girls and women’s sides will both face Shepparton Swans on Friday evening at Princess Park.
The girls are coming off a bye, having thrashed the same opponent in their last fixture, and are playing first at 6.30pm, while the women will follow them at 8pm, aiming for a fourth straight win.
Hockey
The Goulburn Valley Hockey Association will resume its usual scheduling this weekend, though only the Echuca Moama Hockey Club’s women and under-13s will be in action, as the men and under-16s serve byes.
The women are facing Shepparton Strikers Hockey Club at Shepparton Regional Hockey Complex from 2.45pm, with the River Rats having beaten the same opponent in their last outing.
