Coming in at the bottom of the table, the Cats did far better than others have in recent weeks against the might of Colbinabbin, but were still well below the champion’s level.
The league seems to have no answer for the Grasshoppers’ attack and that proved to be the case again at Lockington Recreation Reserve.
Colbo has been routinely logging 20-plus goal quarters and did so again as it led 23-13 at quarter-time.
The leader cruised to a 46-24 lead at the main break and it was more of the same after half-time as the Hoppers closed it out 87-46.
While the Cats couldn’t prevent conceding more than 85 goals for a fourth straight game, Lockington responded far better on attack than Colbinabbin’s recent opposition, its past three opponents scoring 20, 31 and 24.
Colbinabbin is a perfect 8-0 headed into the bye, while Lockington-Bamawm is stuck on the bottom with a 1-6 record.

Leitchville-Gunbower v North Bendigo
Leitchville-Gunbower’s winless run extended to five after the Bombers were defeated, at home, by North Bendigo.
The Bombers had their moments, but it was the Bulldogs’ quality that shone through on the day, claiming the victory 56-39.
Leitchville sits just above the base of the table with a 1-1-5 record heading into another difficult encounter, away to White Hills (5-2) this weekend.
