Rich River Croquet Club was home to some of the nation's best players as it held the 2026 edition of its Association Croquet Open Singles on July 4 to 7.

Five players among the field are part of the Australian team heading to England later this month to compete in the MacRoberston Shield against the world’s other leading croquet nations.
One of those national reps competing was Kyabram’s Trevor Bassett, while his teammates Stephen Pearce (Canberra) and Stephen Forster (Belmont) were the winner and runner-up in section one.
Other notable efforts from a local perspective included Rich River’s Doc Ryant taking out section three at his home club, while Echuca Moama Croquet Club’s Greg Brierley was runner-up in section four.
