The five-time Australian international failed to make the cut for the squad for the tournament in the Americas, with the Socceroos having reached the Round of 32 before bowing out against Egypt.
They did so without the 21-year-old forward, who last earned a senior cap for his country back in March of 2023, having fallen out of favour during the reign of current head coach Tony Popovic.
It remains to be seen whether he will be able to earn a recall to the set-up in the coming months, with fellow attackers Nestory Irankunda, Cristian Volpato and Mohamed Touré seemingly ahead of him in the current pecking order.
However, his performance during his second game in pre-season for Sparta will have done his reputation no harm at all as he netted an impressive strike for the Czech giants in a friendly game against Gamba Osaka.
Showing he has lost none of the pace and power that once saw him become an global overnight sensation following his performances at the previous FIFA World Cup in Qatar four years ago, he opened the scoring for his side in the exhibition clash.
Bobbing and weaving his way down the right-hand side, he cut inside before performing a dazzling Cruyff Turn to evade his marker before slotting the ball past the opposition goalkeeper.
That moment of magic set Prague en route to a 3-0 victory after they dispatched of Opava in a comprehensive 4-1 win just seven days earlier.
This showing from Kuol will have many supporters hoping that the best is still yet to come from the sharp-shooting marksman, who scored once in 31 appearances for his employers last season.
Speaking before Kuol left Newcastle United on a permanent deal to join Sparta last year, Socceroos boss Popovic outlined what the striker would need to do to work his way into his plans.
"We’re monitoring him, we’ve seen some of his games that have been visible recently in the Under 21s,“ he said.
"He just needs consistent football. The level can sometimes be deceiving, of course. But for any striker, when they’re scoring, they’re confident.
"Hopefully this will help him get a move somewhere where he will then have the challenge of getting into a team where there’s points on the line and there’s constant pressure.”
