Moama’s footballers and netballers have been recognised for their fantastic seasons after taking home prizes at the Murray Football Netball League’s end-of-season award ceremony on Sunday.

Netballers Georgina Crowe and Diaz Agg both had great seasons on the court this year and both finished as the runners-up in the league best-and-fairest counts.
Crowe polled 25 votes in the B-grade vote count, finishing third overall behind joint winners Jessi Hicks (Nathalia) and Nat Ferguson (Mulwala) on 28 votes.

Agg came second in the under-13 count after earning an impressive 27 votes, four votes behind winner Zioni Garling-Mathyssen (Rumbalara) on 31.
In the A-grade vote count, Jodie Lake and Charlotte Sheldon both polled well. Lake tallied 18 votes to finish equal sixth, while Sheldon earned 16 votes thanks to a stellar first half of the season.
Jobe Shanahan was one of the heroes in Moama’s senior football semi-final win over Tongala a fortnight ago, booting four goals on the day.

The youngster was a goal machine in junior football too, kicking an impressive 60 goals this season to earn the league’s under-17 goal-kicking award. He also finished third in the league’s best-and-fairest count.
Shanahan wasn’t the only Magpie to be acknowledged for his prowess in front of goal, with the under-15 and under-13 netball sides both earning the best goal shooters award.
Lotti Waterson, Abbey Larkin and Tom Naujok also finished in podium places in their respective best-and-fairest counts, finishing third in the under-15 netball, under-17 netball and under-14 football.
