Between the trio they trained and owned five horses on the day, finishing with a couple of minor placings in the extreme heat.
The New Year’s Eve meeting was dominated by favourites, the meeting kicked off with a win for former champion jockey Steven King and his $1.65 favourite Southern Front.
Fast finish: Echuca-owned-and-trained Mokgadi (second from left) storms home to finish third as a $13 shot in the third event.
Southern Front was steered to the win by Jack Martin, neither of the Echuca-based horses in the event featuring in the finish.
Daryl Archard-trained Sauce Dragon was third with 400 metres of the 1100-metre maiden remaining, but tired to finish fifth as a $19 shot.
Sharni’s Choice, the other Echuca runner, finished last in the field of nine.
Master Bartholdi shared favouritism for the second event and was the first of two Harry Coffey winners for the program.
Long shot: When Rhys Archard-trained Ashmosa (green and white) loomed up to tackle the highly fancied Master Bartholdi (far right) in the second on Friday there was a roar from the crowd.
The $2.80 pop was always on pace and won by more than two lengths, with Rhys Archard-trained Ashmosa finishing third.
Ashmosa was sent out a $41 pop and returned $7 for the place, which would have pleased Echuca connections including Echuca Football Netball Club co-coach Simon Maddox.
Rhys Archard’s second runner on the program, Mokgadi, was third in the 1600-metre third event after being rated a $13 chance.
Mokgadi, owned by his sister, Bo, was 10th at the 400-metre mark, but stormed home for third and finished just over two lengths behind the $9 winner Shultzy.

Favourites Ferlaxing ($1.90) and Redneck Princess ($1.55) made it a successful day for punters when they saluted in the fourth and sixth events.
In the fifth event Mick Cornish and Donna Gaskin saddled up Choralist for another third place for the Echuca contingent, the $9.50 hope storming home for third behind $7 pop Clifton Hill.
Clifton Hill was the other half of jockey Harry Coffey’s winning double for the program.
Longshot Valoyd won the final race on the card by the narrowest margin possible in a blow out for punters when $2.25 favourite Magum Bullet finished third.
Valoyd won as a $15 chance, from $8 runner-up Hugo Loves Vegas.
