Rochy bowled with discipline and tact, keeping Leitchville-Gunbower pinned to its crease for much of the match in Gunbower.
The host was dismissed with the final ball of the 50 overs, but had only 109 to show for it as Rochy kept a tight lid on the run rate.
“The guys through the middle overs bowled tight and bowled really good lines that restricted them and got a lot of dot ball pressure, which brought about some wickets for us,” captain Dylan Cuttriss said.
“We still had to bowl 50 overs, but we gave ourselves something to be able to chase.”

Dylan’s son Judd, 15, led the bowling line with 3-25, another highlight for Rochester’s junior sportsperson of the year and another proud moment for his dad since Judd made his top-grade debut last season.
“Any chance you can get to play senior sport with your kids is really special and seeing him progress and being successful is the best thing for me that I get to see week in, week out,” Dylan said.
“Also seeing things that aren’t going so well for him, and he’s able to rectify those.
“Watching him grow is a nice thing to be pretty close to.”

Rochy will be leaning on youth this season after a couple of departures, with the side not setting expectations too high.
“We’ve lost a few senior players which means that we’re going to have quite a number of young guys rotating in and out, so we’re just looking forward to really getting some good cricket under their belt,” Dylan said.
“We’ve just got to spread the load a little bit more between the rest of us to make sure we’re competitive each week.
“Ultimately the message to all the guys is to make sure we have fun, we come off smiling and we just learn from something each week so we can get better throughout the season.”
Oliver Williams whips off the bails to end Jimmy Gelletly and the Leitchville innings.
In other First XI action, champion Moama fell for the first time in its title defence, falling 15 runs short of Kyabram Fire Brigade’s total.
Miller Griffiths held up the Flames’ innings for a second consecutive game, making 74, while Nick Manohar got it done with the ball, taking 3-23.
In the remaining match, Tongala’s long-running batting woes reared their head again, with Echuca bowling out the Blues for 41 runs in response to its 187.
Some highlight figures included Brendan Moyles’ 2-2, while Alex Williams did what he could with the ball in the first innings, taking 5-19.
