We had to cancel our Ethel Younger Day and it is now proposed to hold it on Sunday, February 28.
Our Tuesday pennant will now finish in second place which gives us the double chance.
Next Saturday our Saturday pennant will finish up their season away to Shepp Park.
The final of the Club Championship is now down to the last game.
Gary Mott will play John Bailey for the honour of being on the board in the clubhouse and being the club champion for the next 12 months.
For John this is completely new country as he has never passed the preliminary rounds before.
We wish both players have a great game and enjoy the privilege of being club champion.
Last Tuesday our pennant team visited East Shepparton and could only manage one point.
Sally Horan, Maureen Shepherd, Stan Coldwell and skipper Barry Parsons played Gilbert Dalle Nogare and played a draw.
The scores were level only twice before the break and East Shepp led comfortably with six ends to play.
To Merrigum’s credit they hung in and outscored their opponents over the last six ends by five shots to one. Well done!
Rob Dennis lost to R Thorpe by two shots and Joe Chant lost to David Neely by eight shots.
There will be our usual working bee this Thursday at 10am and it won’t take long if we have our usual valuable support.
— Young Joe
