The program, founded by Music Australia in 2007, sees students learn and perform an original song on the same day, at the same time.
Over 200 of Twin Rivers’ students packed into the library where they watched a live stream of the event hosted in Surfer’s Paradise, QLD.
And when the clock struck 12.30pm they, along with over 700,000 students across Australia, stood up and sang the original song written for this year’s program, We Are.
Twin Rivers Primary music teacher Rosemary Devlin said the event was a great opportunity for students to connect with each other through the sound of music.
“It’s all about teaching children to express themselves and giving them the confidence to stand up and perform in front of people,” she said.
“The kids were very excited, and they performed beautifully.
