Campaspe Youth Week funding available

IF YOU are interested in running an event in the district to celebrate Victorian Youth Week this April, Campaspe Shire Council wants to hear it.

Applications from schools, community groups or organisations are now open to host events from April 3-12.

Economic and community development general manager Keith Oberin said it was a great opportunity for the community to support young people and work in partnership to deliver events and activities during the week-long celebrations.

“Grants up to $500 are available and can be used for a variety of activities such as movie or games nights, art exhibitions, musical performances, sporting events or bus trips,” Mr Oberin said.

There are six grants available, with a range of criteria to be met, including that events must be:● alcohol, smoke and drug free;● accessible to all young people; and● based in Campaspe Shire during Victorian Youth Week.

Grants should empower young people, providing them with the opportunity to plan, deliver and attend various events.

Applications are now open and close at 5pm on March 6.
