In a statement released today, the club announced that Campbell had chosen to move on as coach.
"It is with a degree of disappointment that I inform you that Guy Campbell has decided to resign as the Senior Football Coach of the Echuca United Football Netball Club at the end of this season," president Ian Johnson said.
"Guy has been a familiar face around the Club for many years, having played junior football here before stints with various clubs including the Sydney Swans and Rochester before returning home to the Eagles Nest.
"During his time at the Club, Guy has been a very loyal and devoted person both on and off the field - most notably taking over as the Senior coach 4 years ago and leading the team into the finals last year.
"Guy has committed to assisting us with finding his replacement and also ensuring a smooth transition between now and the start of the season next year.
"Whilst he is currently undecided on his playing future, we have asked that he consider staying on at United next year as the first 2 practice matches this year showed what an asset he is in any side.
"We thank Guy for his valuable contributions to the Club and wish him well for the future. I’d also like to thank Rhiannon, Jamison and Quade for allowing Guy to spend so much time during the last 4 years in contributing to the success of the club."
