The Echuca Moama Salvation Army is raising money for the annual Red Shield Appeal.

Auxillary Lieutenant Sonia Edwards oversees many parts of the church, while also being the welfare officer, the Op Shop supervisor, administrator, pastoral care and the appeal co-ordinator.

“Last year we raised $12,000 for the Echuca Moama Salvation Army, and this year we would like to reach $20,000,” she said.

“For the Red Shield Appeal we will be hosting a trivia night at Echuca Workers on June 9. Tickets are $20 and that includes supper.”

While Echuca Salvation Army has plenty of supplies and blankets, it is on the lookout for volunteers and funds.

“The money raised will help people in need with medical assistance and pharmacy bills,” Lt Edwards said.

The amount that’s raised from the community remains in the community and ensures the unemployed and people facing financial difficulties can access critical care.

The trivia night is on Friday, June 9, with doors opening at 6.30pm and the event starting at 7pm.

The event includes a silent auction with 30 local businesses donating goods which will be auctioned off on the night.

To attend the trivia night at the Echuca Workers please call the Salvation Army shop in Echuca on 5480 1298.
