Carols bring festive cheer

The popular Carols by the Lake event was once again a hit at the Mulwala Water Ski Club last Friday evening despite the unpleasant weather.

Held on the Malibu Deck, hundreds of parents and children turned out to participate, watch and enjoy.

The stars of the night included the students and teachers from Yarrawonga College P-12, Sacred Heart Primary, Mulwala Public School and of course, Santa.

Talented dancers from Sun Country Dance Studio performed several fantastic festive dances while Lachlan McIntyre, Antonia Maher music and Jade Camden entertained the crowd with several traditional Christmas songs.

Ski Club President Matt Holgate also welcomed presented Yarrawonga Friends in Common volunteers to the stage to accept a cheques for $1000 to help assist those having to travel for their cancer treatment.

Mulwala Water Ski Club CEO Peter Duncan said as usual it was good although the weather wasn’t too good.

“Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate the joy of Christmas on the Malibu Deck on Friday evening,” Mr Duncan said.

“The people who came along really enjoyed it.

“It’s been a great thing to put on for the community and hopefully in the next year we can get some good weather for it.

“The kids all love it and that’s the main thing. It’s all for the kids so it was great.

“It was heartwarming to see the students dressed for the festive gear and perform beautifully on stage. There was even a visit from Santa!

“It’s been good every year we’ve put it on. We’ve had some good shows and it’s great to have been part of it.
