Hosting the Lakers at Merrigum Recreation Reserve, the Bulldogs struggled to get anything going on either end in the first quarter.
The host could only manage a single behind in the first quarter, while Nagambie ran over the top of them, piling on seven goals to jut out to a 44-point lead at the first break.
While Merrigum managed to kick its first major of the game in the second period, the Lakers kept pushing the pace, ballooning its lead to 62 at half-time.
Another single behind effort in the third term meant that the game was all but over, especially when Nagambie nailed 6.8 in the same time.
The Bulldogs couldn’t produce any more goals down the stretch, maintaining the routine of the game, adding just one more behind for the day.
Meanwhile, the Lakers couldn’t be denied (9.6) pushing its lead out to a whopping 164-points by the full-time siren.
Nagambie’s Will Dalton (10) was lethal in front of goal, collecting a massive bag for his efforts, while Merrigum’s captain Zak Parkinson was named best-on for his team.
The 1.5 (11) to 26.19 (175) hiding leaves the Bulldogs as the current wooden-spooners at the halfway point of the season.
Merrigum will have a decent chance to get on the board in round 10 when it faces Undera this weekend.
