Campaspe Shire Council has launched a comprehensive webpage designed to bring residents real-time information before, during and after emergency events.
The new Emergency Dashboard collates critical emergency service updates, weather warnings, road closures, relief centre locations and community alerts on one platform.
It forms part of the council’s commitment to strengthening community resilience and improving access to timely, accurate emergency information.
Mayor Daniel Mackrell said the dashboard came about from lessons learned during flood events and from community feedback, which highlighted its need.
“This dashboard ensures our community can access the latest updates from trusted sources, all in one place,” he said.
“We’re proud to be leading the way in emergency preparedness for our community, as one of the few Victorian local governments to implement this type of tool.”
The mobile-friendly dashboard integrates feeds from VicEmergency, Bureau of Meteorology and VicTraffic, and has outage information from Powercor, Goulburn Valley Water and Coliban Water.
Various social media feeds are also included, along with emergency radio stations, fire danger ratings and preparedness resources.
“This is about empowering our community with the tools they need to stay safe and informed,” Cr Mackrell said.
“We encourage everyone to bookmark the dashboard and share it with neighbours, friends and family.”
The initiative builds on the Campaspe Municipal Emergency Management Plan 2024-27, and supports the Municipal Recovery Committee’s goals.
