After months of preparation in state level events, veteran training duo Barry Quinlan and Kriss Burns have their fighters primed to take on the tournament from Thursday, November 20 to Saturday, November 22.
Thor Burns, 15, described by Quinlan as a “fine tuned technical boxer”, is competing in lightweight (57 to 60kg) category.
Two-time Australian and Victorian champion Jamie Marek is taking on the competition at super middleweight (70kg), while the hard-hitting Steven Schenk is battling at light heavyweight (78 to 81kg).
The national titles will see winning fighters progress deeper into the tournament to eventually crown national weight-class champions.
