The regular season in the Campaspe Tennis Association ended as it had gone on, with the Echuca sides picking up strong wins over Rochester and Lockington Bamawm United in this week’s matches at Echuca Tennis Club.

Now officially the minor premier, Echuca 1 scored victory over LBU in a game that was closer than the sets margin would indicate, 10-90 to 3-69.

The singles rubbers were particularly close, with Jack Byrne grabbing one for Echuca while Darryl Squires claimed the other for LBU, both 7-6.
Echuca established its edge in the men’s doubles, taking all three sets.
Todd Charnas and Hugh Melville had the best result of the section, winning 8-3, while LBU kept things closer in the other two.
Roxanne Dicketts and Charlotta Groenewald were the standout pairing in the women’s doubles, scoring 8-1 for Echuca, while Gina Burns and Melissa Haines pulled back the only set of the four for LBU, 8-5.

Echuca also took three of four mixed doubles, but it was LBU that had the highlight pairing, Haines and James Brentall teaming up for a perfect 8-0 result.
Echuca 2 vs Rochester
Echuca 2 matched its club mates on the sets count but had earned a bigger games margin over Rochester, 10-90 to 3-58.

Like in the other fixture, the singles were perfectly split down the middle, with Rochester’s Jacob Grieves and Echuca’s Josh Boyd each claiming one 6-4.
Echuca earned a small lead in the men’s doubles, winning two of three, including Boyd pairing with Logan Milnes for the best result, 8-4.

The host was again dominant in the women’s doubles, grabbing three of four sets.
The biggest win came via Jessica Cox and Maya Farrell, who paired well to log an 8-1 victory.

Echuca came out on top across the courts in the mixed doubles, taking all four sets to run away with the tie.
Milnes and Tanya Godfrey combined for the most effective partnership of the section, prevailing 8-1.
The association now takes a week off before the semi-final rounds on March 14.
As fortune would have it, the two match-ups from this week will repeat themselves in the post-season, with Echuca 1 battling LBU and Echuca 2 taking on Rochester.
The winners will meet in a grand final on March 21.
