Many local men and women took advantage of the opportunity to have a free test of blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol carried out by registered nurse Kath Wyborn.
Kath was accompanied by her husband Craig attending to the paperwork.
“We actually needed to take a gentleman to the hospital while visiting Gundagai,” Craig said.
“He came along to the van and had the usual testing when it was discovered his blood pressure was extremely high. He had no previous history of this condition.
“He came back later for a second test which proved to be even higher, so I put him in the car and took him straight to hospital.”
Holbrook, Whitton and Lockhart were also on the list to be visited by the van.
Finley Rotary Club members would like to express their sincere thanks to the members of Warners Bay Rotary Club who coordinate the visit throughout NSW and have undoubtedly saved many lives.
They are now preparing to have a further visit next year.
