The newly launched Festive Grants Program will provide eligible community groups with up to $2500 to deliver festive projects, events, activities and decorations that encourage community participation and celebrate the diversity of the shire.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said the program had been expanded from the council's previous festive contribution model to make funding more accessible and encourage a wider range of community initiatives.
"Eligible community groups can apply for up to $2500 to deliver festive projects, programs, exhibitions or events that benefit Campaspe Shire residents," Cr Mackrell said.
"That could be Christmas decorations, carols or gingerbread house workshops, but it could also be activities around Easter, Diwali, Ramadan, Hanukkah or other celebrations that are important to our community."
Council has also introduced a Milestone Celebration Grant Program, with a total funding pool of $100,000 to support incorporated not-for-profit organisations delivering significant one-off community celebrations.
Eligible projects include anniversaries, launches of community projects, celebrations of local history and culture, commemorative art and public events recognising people, places or milestones of local, national or international significance.
"We're also pleased to support larger milestone celebrations that recognise Campaspe's unique local culture, identity and heritage, while creating opportunities for people to gather, reflect and celebrate together," Cr Mackrell said.
He said council hoped the new funding streams would encourage creative ideas that strengthened community spirit across the shire.
"Campaspe is home to passionate volunteers, and we're excited to see the creative ideas these funding streams will spark," he said.
"Whether it's a festive activity that brings colour and energy to a town centre, or a milestone celebration that honours local history and shared identity, these programs can help create welcoming moments residents will enjoy, share and remember."
Applications for the Festive Grants Program close on August 16, while the Milestone Celebration Grant Program opens on July 23 and will remain open until the available funding has been allocated.
Funding guidelines and application information are available on Campaspe Shire Council's website.
