The Mowers’ women welcomed Rumbalara to Moama Recreation Reserve and were on top from the opening whistle, running away with a 12.18 (90) to 1.0 (6) win.
Rumba was held scoreless in the opening quarter while Moama started the match slotting four goals.
The visitor found its first and only score in the second, but the Mowers added three more majors to push their lead past 40.
The second half brought more of the same, a host of Moama stars getting involved in the scoring as another five unanswered goals flew through the sticks.
The 12 total Moama goals came from 11 different scorers in a balanced team effort, only Shaleah Cooper striking more than once.
Cooper also led the best-on list, joining Teah Bell, captain Tori Russell, Emilie Daniel, Olivia Dewar and Ayrlea Clark.
Early indications through three rounds are that Shepparton United will be difficult to unseat as the reigning premier, while Moama, Cobram and Mansfield have all looked good.
The Mowers continue their home stand this Sunday, welcoming the 1-2 Tatura to Moama Recreation Reserve.
Youth Girls
Moama’s girls displayed even greater dominance, shutting out Nathalia 14.13 (97) to 0.
It was a moderate start offensively for the Mowers, kicking only 4.8 in the first half, but the hosts broke the Purples’ spirits after half-time to pile on the goals.
Chloe Ryan kicked four as Moama’s scoring leader, while Ruby McLeod added three and Elli McCallum two.
Georgie Elso led the best-on list, joined by Jolie Masters, McLeod and Ava Elliott.
Moama has started its own title defence well, with Shepparton Swans, also undefeated, the club’s chief rival at this stage.
The top two will face off in what looks like a possible very early grand final preview at Princess Park in Shepparton this Sunday.
