The Murray Bombers dominated from start to finish, running out winners by a crushing 81 points.
Their final score of 21.15 to 8.12 was 15 points shy of its 22.22 (154) to Shepparton’s 9.4 (58) record score when completing a hat-trick of flag wins in 2024.
Co-coach of Echuca, Angus Byrne, kicked six goals in a best-on-ground performance, and Liam Gronow with three, headed 11 individual goalkickers for Echuca in the massacre.
Tom and Jack Evans, Jack McHale and Curtis Townrow were also standouts for the winners.
Liam Duguid, Luke Smith and Ashley Holland tried hard for the Bears with support from Ryan Ash and Connor Fleming, but few of their players could match the intensity Echuca applied all game.
Echuca won the double with its reserves side completing an undefeated season with a 40-point win.
But its bid to win all three footy finals for the second time in three years had disappeared when its unbeaten thirds team suffered its first loss for the season when well beaten by an impressive Shepparton outfit.
The young Bears were beaten by Echuca by 44 points in the first week of the finals, but bounced back to win the decider by 30 points.
