Nominations for Murray River Council’s 2023 Australia Day Awards are open.
Community members are encouraged to nominate individuals or groups who have made an outstanding contribution to the local community.
“Australia Day provides a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge those individuals who volunteer so much of their time to ensure community services, initiatives and other important activities continue to prosper across our council area,” Murray River Council Mayor Chris Bilkey said.
“It’s also a great platform to recognise individuals and groups who have made achievements in a range of pursuits including sports and the arts.”
Categories include:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Sportsperson of the Year
- Young Sportsperson of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
- Community Group of the Year
- Arts/Cultural Award (person or group)
Nominations could be completed via council’s ‘Your Say’ platform, at www.yoursay.murrayriver.nsw.gov.au
Nominations close on Monday, November 14, and awards will be presented on January 26, 2023.
“Don’t be shy, if there is someone in your community or group that deserves a nomination, I encourage you to nominate them today,” Cr Bilkey said.
