REDHS is a winner thanks to Rotary's Golf Ball Drop

ROCHESTER and Elmore District Health Service has received a generous donation thanks to the public and the Echuca Moama Rotary Club.

After the success of the club's Golf Ball Drop back in September, REDHS was presented with a $4000 cheque, and staff there couldn't be happier.

“It's been such a tough time for everyone and fundraising has just been so hard for a lot of organisations,” REDHS chief executive Karen Laing said.

“We would have been thrilled to have received anything, but $4000 will be such a big help.”

Ms Laing said the money would go towards the development and organisation of REDHS's new community transport project.

“This project, with help from the Royal Flying Doctor Service, will benefit the community in so many ways and this money will add to that,” she said.

“It will mean people who may not be able to make their appointments in Echuca or Bendigo because they didn't have access to transport will now have so many more opportunities.”

Echuca Moama Rotary Club president Teresa Carlson said she was pleased the money would be put to good use.

“I'm so pleased REDHS will be able to put this money towards something that will benefit not only the people of Rochester, but other surrounding towns as well,” she said.
