Echuca police, in conjunction with Echuca West Neighbourhood Watch, will fit one-way anti-theft screws to vehicles at the Bunnings car park on Ogilvie Ave.
There will be a ‘park and shop’ area so your car can be fitted while you visit Bunnings.
Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator Len Wills said many plates have been stolen this year.
‘‘Supermarket carparks are the worst places for it at the moment,’’ he said.
Safe Plate Day will be held from 9am-2pm.
Campaspe police Inspector Anthony Vanderzalm said crime prevention was everyone’s responsibility and everyone had an important role to play.
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer with Echuca West Neighbourhood Watch can contact Mr Wills on 54801083.
