Up to 90 players are expected to be involved in the two-day competition, where the gross winner will earn automatic entry into the state event beginning on November 28.
Rich River chief executive Shane Gloury said the club was hopeful of making the tournament an annual event.
‘‘We’re always looking to host good quality events,’’ he said.
‘‘The club has had a really strong response in the first year of an initial three-year agreement. But we’re hoping we can extend it further in the future.
‘‘Golfers are going to be travelling far and wide to compete in this event.’’
Also, the top two placed golfers over the age of 50 will gain automatic entry to the 2019 NSW Senior Open Championship at Thurgoona Country Club Resort.
Meanwhile, there will also be prizes including places in the NSW Open Pro-Am on offer.
The qualifying event is open to all Golf Australia members who hold a handicap of 18 or under and has a $40 entry fee.
