Sylvester Stallone predicts AI will rule over humans

Asked if he predicts a dystopian world in which humans are ruled by AI, he told the Sunday Times magazine: "Yes, we'll be taken over completely. Because when things are made too easy, people get soft.

"Now you have taxi cabs that drive themselves. Pretty soon you're going to have sidewalks that move, and people's bodies will start to atrophy. I'm serious. It's like, pretty soon we're not going to have any legs. We'll just be carried around by machinery."

The 80-year-old star - who had two sons, the late Sage and Seargeoh, with first wife Sasha Czack and three daughters with his current third wife Jennifer Flavin - envisages a world where people are lonelier than ever because they rely on "mechanical love affairs" for connection.

He said: "(Loneliness) is the worst disease. Because it shuts down everything.

"Every guy has to do something to prove his masculinity. It used to be sports but because of technology they're alone in the basement playing video games instead. And it's going to get 10,000 times worse with AI. You know that.

"They're going to create fantasy partners. You're going to have mechanical love affairs. It's going into a place that we dare not think about. When we were young we were forced to read 1984. You don't need to read that now, it actually came about.

"Really, what would George Orwell write today? Oh my God, I can't wrap my head around what he would predict."

The Tulsa King star thinks life is harder for men today because they are more isolated due to the changing employment circumstances.

He explained: "Men are defined by their jobs. And back then there were still jobs that were almost like going into the army.

"If you were a steelworker you were among other men and the sweat and the bonding and drinking a beer. It wasn't just a job, it was belonging to a team.

"And then when corporations come in and just shut it down, they're forced into doing something like driving a truck. Where's the team? You're alone now."
