In one of the biggest equestrian competitions in the state, Benalla will play host to the TTT Dressage competition this weekend.
The "Triple T", which stands for Top Team Trophy, has teams of four vying for the title. Riders compete at their own level, with points earned for placings added to their team score.
After taking out the title last year, Benalla and District Adult Riding Club was granted the opportunity to host this year’s event at the Benalla Sports and Equestrian Centre.
With more than 500 competitors travelling from across Victoria to Benalla, spectators can watch more than 1000 dressage tests across 10 arenas and three days.
Raise the Roof committee member Melissa Mounsey said there was plenty of entertainment for spectators to enjoys.
“You can pop on down and check out our new facilities,” Mounsey said.
“The Roy Hill Pavilion's upgrade is finished and will be up and running.
“We’ll have people camping, there is a trade village, and the canteen will be up and running.”
On the competition side, riders of of all levels will take to the dressage arena, with plenty of competitors representing Benalla.
“Benalla has five teams competing,” Mounsey said.
“We won it last year, which gave us first right to host it.
“It’s very exciting to have it in Benalla – we’ve got amazing facilities.
“We’ll try go back-to-back, though it is very hard to win.
“We've been practicing and training hard for it.”
