Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a gap has opened up in the exhibition calendar, providing an opportunity to hold a members’ exhibition.
The theme for the exhibition is ‘Your response to these unusual times’.
‘‘In a world full of change, we keep getting told what we can’t do right now, so here is something you can do, and however you choose to do it,’’ The Foundry’s Dee Makeham said.
‘‘It is your expression of what the changed times have inspired you to create.
‘‘Art is freedom of expression; there is no wrong way, or right way, it’s your way.
‘‘We encourage you to embrace the opportunity to release that creative energy and channel it into something you may never have tried before. Submissions can be in a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, drawing, video, photography.
‘‘We ask your creations must be ready to hang (D hooks) or stand if applicable.’’
Yearly memberships, which cost $30 or $25 concession, will be required and are available upon making submissions on the day.
Opening times at The Foundry for art submissions, membership applications and entry forms will be Sunday, July 26 from 5 pm to 6 pm, and Monday from 10 am to 11 am or email thefoundry@emai.org.au for information.
The exhibition will open on Monday, July 27.
