Based in Bendigo, The Orange Door is a free service for anyone in the Loddon region seeking help and support for family violence. The network can also help anyone needing support with the care, wellbeing and development of children. No referral is needed.
If you attend The Orange Door, you will be connected with local specialist agencies — including family violence services, family services and Aboriginal services.
These agencies have well-established services and programs operating throughout the diverse Loddon region.
The Loddon Orange Door network specialist partner agencies are Centre for Non-Violence (CNV), the Department of Health and Human Services’ Family Safety Victoria, Anglicare Victoria, Bendigo and District Aboriginal Co-operative and Njernda Aboriginal Corporation.
Centre for Non-Violence program and services executive manager Yvette Jaczina said CNV would continue to be responsible for responding to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence and working with perpetrators to understand and change their behaviour.
“We look forward to bringing our family violence specialist knowledge into The Orange Door, while drawing on the experience and knowledge of our partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for clients,” she said.
“The Orange Door is one part of the overall system that is working to keep women and children safe, while keeping perpetrators in sight and accountable for their behaviour.
“We have a shared commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for families.”
