The changes come in line with Campaspe Shire's new parking strategy.
The zones on Murray Esplanade from Radcliffe St to Leslie St, High St from Warren St to Leslie St, Leslie St from High Street to the Campaspe River, Hopwood Place from Murray Esplanade to High St, and Heygarth St from Hare St to Annesley St will all switch to either two or four-hour parking.
Campaspe Shire Council general manager of infrastructure Dr Jason Deller said the biggest change was an increase in parking spots for those with accessible parking permits.
“The changes will see an increase in accessible car parking spaces, for people with accessible parking permits, from nine to 14 locations around the Riverfront, Hopwood Place and Leslie St,” he said.
“In addition, time restrictions in some areas will change, some reducing, some increasing.”
Temporary signage will soon be put in place to provide advanced notice to the community, with the changes officially introduced once permanent signage and road markings have been introduced.
“It will take about one to two weeks to complete the full change-over,” Dr Deller said.
“The advanced notice will help the community in recognising those areas that will change.”
The equitable access carpark at Hopwood Place will be increased by two spots, while the same will take place at the area on High St south of Hopwood Lane, which will be increased to the north of Radcliffe St.
All day zones on Dickson St from Crofton St to High St, and Crofton St from Watson St to Dickson St will have their all-day zones formally painted.
Full information for parking in the region is available on the Campaspe Shire website.
