Couch casting steals the show

There was plenty of fun had on and around the river at the weekend for the Edward River Fishing Club’s 2026 Cast for Cash Cod Closing Competition.

On Friday and Saturday nights, the Deniliquin Boat Club became the social venue for entrants and community members to get together and compare and share results.

A highlight of the Saturday’s night’s entertainment was the inaugural 'Couch Casting Competition’, with humorous running commentary from John Creenaune and Andrew Jefferies.
