Edward River Council
ERC delivers a wide range of essential community services, from infrastructure construction and maintenance, parks and waste management to libraries, customer service, regulatory functions, tourism and community programs.
It is recognised for embedding safety, wellbeing and open communication into everyday practice, empowering employees to speak up and actively shape safer workplaces.
With strong leadership, enhanced reporting systems, practical safety processes and a culture that values both physical and psychological wellbeing, council demonstrates how effective WHS relies on systems, processes and people working together.
High engagement initiatives such as the Trademutt mental health program, BARD conflict‑management training and a growing Health and Safety Representative network further strengthen psychological safety, employee involvement and a connected workplace where staff feel supported, confident and committed to improving safety outcomes.

Intereach
Intereach delivers a broad mix of community services in Deniliquin, including family support, disability services, aged‑care programs, early childhood initiatives and community transport.
It believes a safe workplace is built on culture, not just policies, with safety and wellbeing treated as core business that shapes daily leadership and staff support.
A shared responsibility approach - strengthened by mental health first aiders, Wellbeing Champions and a no‑blame reporting culture - helps staff speak up, learn from incidents and improve together.
Wellbeing is woven into everyday practice through flexible work, strong support for isolated roles and programs across aged care, disability and early childhood.
With continuous improvement at the heart of their culture, they show what it means to be a regional employer that looks after its people.
