Ever wanted to just rock up to school in your PJs?
St Augustine’s College students did just that when they had their annual pyjama day on Friday.
The students came dressed snuggly in their pyjamas, onesies, dressing gowns and slippers to raise awareness of homelessness.
The students reflected on the plight of the homeless, who do not always have the benefits of a warm home or bed to sleep in.

Travis tribute one-sided
St Augustine’s could not even the ledger against a fierce Kyabram Bombers during the under-14 teams’ Travis Atkins Memorial clash on Sunday.
The top-age-heavy Bombers defeated St Augustine’s 72-34, with Tom Burnett receiving best-on-ground for the second straight year.
However, the win did not come without a fight from St Augustine’s, who kicked three goals in the first quarter to the Bombers’ two.
However, the strength of Bombers players such as Murray Ferrer and Tom Burnett began to shine through in the second quarter, with the pair working together to stop attacks from St Augustine’s and get enough possessions to take their score to 40 to St Augustine’s 22.

Bennetts open the doors to Ky’s sports super store
Rowan and Susie Bennett have been flat out running their Bennett’s Sportspower store of late, with two premises housing all their goods.
With the completion of the renovations and extensions of their second shop, the team went into overdrive getting ready for their re-opening and a national Sportspower sale.
After four days of frantic work, the stores have been combined into one super store that now has access to the Bradley St car park at the rear.
The new store is three times the size of the old premises, which will enable the huge array of sporting goods at Sportspower to be on display and for customers to stroll through and select their items and try out fits in new change rooms.

Blinder by Bulldogs
An incident on the quarter-time siren, described these days as a melee, proved to be the turning point in the grand final rematch between Tatura and Echuca.
In what appeared to be a show of strength by both sides, Tatura grabbed the initiative and for the next two quarters completely dominated a disappointing Echuca.
The Dogs’ domination on their home turf was evident all over the ground and on the scoreboard where they added 16 goals to the Murray Bombers’ six.
It was the strength and aggression at the ball shown by the rampaging Bulldogs that appeared to throw the Echuca side off balance.

Marea Mercedes performing at the dinner dance.
Swinging night
The annual dinner dance for Containers Ltd was held in the social hall on Friday night and was voted by all a wonderful night.
Highlight of the evening was the appearance of well-known TV singer Marea Mercedes, who captured her audience with her volatile personality, and strong, clear voice.
Marea, who was accompanied by guitarist David Briggs, looked stunning in a two-piece blue and silver gown, metallic and shimmering, which offset her short, new style, auburn hair.
Marea, who is 18 years old, has appeared on television shows throughout Australia, including the Mike Walsh and Don Lane shows.

Col is still a speedster
Col, a B Standard driver, has been taking all him with his EJ this season, and up until last Sunday’s meeting at Rushworth had strung up 15 straight feature wins, including six championships.
Many of his wins have been over A Standard models and one of his best wins was in the Easter Gold Cup at Seymour at Easter when he downed some of the slickest A Standards around.
Col now lives in Melbourne but makes regular trips to speedways in the north where his right-hand man — mechanic and pit crew — is his father, Mr Jim McMaster of Kyabram.
Col first got into racing when he was 16 when he won a junior go-kart championship and later progressed to dragsters.
