The Victorian Government announced on Monday, July 20 that the Community Recovery Grants program had opened.
The program backs locally led projects designed to help people recover, reconnect and rebuild across bushfire-affected council areas.
The Victorian Government says it’s based on the simple principle that local communities know their recovery needs best.
“No two communities recover in the same way,” Victorian Natural Disaster Recovery Minister Vicki Ward said.
“These grants put communities in the driver’s seat, giving them the flexibility to deliver the projects that will matter most.
“We’ll continue standing alongside bushfire-affected Victorians, backing them with the support they need every step of the way.”
The program allows local groups and not-for-profit organisations the flexibility to design and deliver the projects that matter most to their communities.
Eligible projects can include trauma-informed training and psychological first aid, community wellbeing events and workshops, and practical preparedness materials to plan for future emergencies.
Applications will close on Friday, August 31.
