This year’s milestone 10th annual Make a Meal of June has surpassed $126,000, bringing its all-time fundraising total for the event closer to $1 million, sitting at around $960,000.
“The day after our annual fundraising dinner is full of many emotions, but most of all we are full of pride to be a part of this incredible community and our heart is full — how lucky we are spending an evening with truly amazing people,” Foodshare’s Kate Smith said.

The funds include contributions from businesses and individuals who took up monthly partnerships for the 2026-27 financial year, event and raffle ticket sales, and donations, including $15,000 from the Margaret Attwood Trust, $10,000 from the Copulos Foundation, an anonymous $15,000 donation on the night and a further anonymous $5000 the following morning.

The event, held at The Woolshed at Emerald Bank on June 10, was a sellout, with 240 people in attendance.
“Increasing food security in our community is truly a collaborative approach and while Shepparton Foodshare is the hub for receiving and distributing food, we cannot do it without this generous support we receive from community,” Ms Smith said.
