For now, Percy is being stored at Emerald Bank on behalf of Goldfields, with Mr Remnant hopeful they will eventually help restore the well-loved landmark.
“We are committed to working with Goldfield Developers and the community to ensure Percy is preserved and given a respectful and lasting future,” he said.
But for now, the focus is simply on keeping Percy safe and making sure his future doesn’t go pear-shaped.
