Elijah Beriman, Ayden Freestone, Emily Burgess, Jessica Knight, Olivia Lees and Saylah Tarrant have spent much of 2026 developing their creative practices and producing work for the exhibition An Embodied Nexus: The Menagerie.
The program brought the young artists together every three weeks from March to September for creative gatherings at The Foundry Art Space in Echuca.
The gatherings provided participants with an opportunity to develop ideas, experiment with different approaches and work collaboratively towards the public exhibition.
The artists also took part in creative workshop intensives with lead creative facilitator Ellen Lee and artist facilitator Ethan O’Brien, building their skills while developing the works that will feature in the exhibition.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said the program provided an important opportunity for young creatives to develop their skills and share their work with the community.
“Unearthed gives young artists the chance to explore their creative practice, learn from experienced facilitators and share their work with the wider community through a professional exhibition,” Cr Mackrell said.
He said council was proud to support opportunities that helped young people build confidence and contribute to the region’s arts and culture.
The resulting exhibition, An Embodied Nexus: The Menagerie, will open at The Foundry Art Space on Friday, September 18, and remain on display until Sunday, October 25.
The opening event will be held from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on September 18.
The Unearthed Youth Arts Program will return in 2027, with Kyabram set to host the next program for young creatives aged 15 and over.
