The trial has been implemented as an approach to manage increased green waste disposal demand and support ongoing bushfire recovery efforts.
As part of the trial, green waste will need to be placed into designated skip bins, rather than unloaded on to existing ground stockpile areas, while council works through increased volumes at the sites.
Residents are advised to bring manageable loads and be prepared to lift or shovel green waste into the skip bins when visiting transfer stations.
The trial follows an increase in green and organic waste after the recent fires, with many residents undertaking clean-up works across impacted areas.
Council is working to ensure green waste services remain available while it continues to deliver recovery projects such as the Nagambie Firewood Recovery Program, which helps families replace winter firewood lost during the fires, and the Euroa Poly Tank Recycling Program, which supports the collection and recycling of damaged water tanks.
As clean-up efforts continue, council will monitor green waste volumes and make further adjustments where needed.
