Addressing modern environmental issues, such as climate chaos and species extinction, requires sustainable solutions across natural, social and artificial realms, says Benalla Permaculture president, Warwick Bone.
The community group, which has members from Culcairn to Myrtleford and Seymour to Shepparton, will host a 10-week book club in Shepparton to explore strategies from David Holmgren’s RetroSuburbia.
The book is a guide for enhancing community resilience through effective use of current infrastructure, and the in-person sessions are designed to foster collective learning.
Participants will need a copy of the book and will also receive a workbook by donation.
Benalla Permaculture runs various events throughout the year, including property visits, workshops, courses and book clubs.
The Shepparton book club will be on Saturday mornings at Shepparton Library, from May 30 until October 3.
Participants will be requested to provide refreshments on rotation.
Bookings are essential via Humanitix.
